New life has been pushed into Café Salsa in West Beach with new owners and new ideas. The main addition is how they are now offering all day breakfast on Saturday and Sunday so if you are hankering for some bacon and eggs at 11.01am then Salsa’s is for you!
There is an Italian themed variety in the food with a selection of pastas, pizzas and mains. The salt and pepper white bait is a nice addition that is not often seen at most cafes. I did like the stuffed mushrooms with eggplant, provolone cheese, chili, garlic and parsley. The mushrooms were quite large and juicy with that wonderful umami flavour.
We were also given a very refreshing cocktail that they named the Salsa Sun which comprises of Vodka and Blood Orange. It was a warm day when I visited so this was the perfect remedy.
For dessert I was able to try their panna cotta which ended up being my favorite dish on the day. It was very soft and silky and a pleasure to slowly enjoy. The other dessert featured was banana doughnut which was a little too doughy for me and heavy on the cinnamon. I’d take two panna cottas instead any day.
Looking around between courses I found the décor had a Bali feel to it which fits well being closely situated to the beach. This location is great for those who want to frequent the beach. Though not on the beach front it is only a stone’s throws away from the white sands!
We would like to thank Café Salsa for hosting us and sharing their food culture with us.
