As the windows start to fog up and the layers of clothes increase you may have noticed we are in the thick of winter. Winter has its plus side as it brings that sense of coziness and also the snow season for the avid snowboarders and skiers! In the spirit of this subzero season The Moseley have launched their Winter Cocktail and menu items. When you escape that chilly embrace and dust off those shivers you can always expect a warm welcome from The Moseley. Once again the place was packed out with people winding down or in some cases winding up for a big night. Upstairs is where I hovered to. Lo and behold – The Winter Chalet.
I was keen to try some of the cocktails to thaw out my blood. There are so many interesting creations for your winter celebrations with 17 to choose from to match whatever mood you may be in. An old favourite is the Espresso Martini named “The Stimulant” (very fitting). In this you would find Grey Goose vodka, Kahlua, fresh espresso and sugar syrup. I imagine this would be great to begin the night for that energy spike.
To drink so much on an empty stomach is unwise so I highly recommend their Pork Belly which has the fat rendered to perfection. That crunch of the crackling is so satisfying and their 1836 Cocktail of dark rum, honey syrup and lime juice matched it quite well!
Now, there is a great promotion on at the moment and I am a massive sucker for anything like this. If you buy any of the cocktails marked with a snowflake next to it you can win a prize. For example their “At Dawn” cocktail which is fresh strawberries, sailor jerry, Bacardi, De Kuyper strawberry, sugar, lime juice and Monin blueberry syrup is one of these you can win with. The prize is a very exciting trip to the snow and it would be your duty to your loved one to win this prize for them so drink up!
Other recent additions are the Asparagus Frittata for those herbivores amongst us and some delicious Brownies that are worth being greedy about. Of course their usual meals are still on offer so if you have any favourites don’t distress. The only thing is that you can now enjoy something like the “Pacino” to go with it – Grey Goose vodka, Hennessy VS, De Kuyper brown cacao and blueberry syrup all wrapped up for you to enjoy!
Before your snow trip this year come down to The Moseley for some practice in alpine bar culture and you never know, it might just pay for your next trip!
