This Friday we just want to introduce this little gem in McLaren Vale. If you haven’t been, it’s a small winery but in a unique location with breathtaking views. Let nature amuse you as you drive down the lane, as though the trees were lined up perfectly symmetrical. This little gem is called Battle of Bosworth.
You would think the name doesn’t sound very wine-like but it holds some meaning in history. The name originates from the Battle of Bosworth fought on Bosworth field in Leicestershire, England. Here in McLaren Vale, the Bosworth family settled in with their first vineyard in 1840s. Fast forward to 1995, winemaker Joch Bosworth took over and converted the vineyards to be certified organic. The Battle of Bosworth Wines that we know today are still made from vines that were planted by Joch’s parents years ago.
They offer a decent range of wine here, it’s definitely worth a visit while you’re wine tasting in McLaren Vale. Their cellar door is open everyday from 11am-5pm except for Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
