You may be intrigued by smoke and people in goggles and lab coats as you walk past. It’s no smoke machine. It’s liquid nitrogen and that’s how they make their ice cream here. Made to order, it gets churned and frozen on the spot by liquid nitrogen right in front of your eyes. The result? A very smooth and light gelato.
I could never hot chocolate AND dessert so it was Watermelon Fancy Lemonade for me. House made, so good and refreshing. You have to try one of their fancy lemonades. Over time we’ve had blueberry and rose petal as well.
Mr Foodie doesn’t shy from a challenge so Hot Chocolate it always is only this one came with a supersize marshmallow. Like the ones you get in Costco because they are comically huge. As if that wasn’t rich enough he also ordered the S’mores Please. Their take on S’mores is a pan of melted chocolate topped with toasted giganto marshmallows served with Marie biscuits on the side so you can dip away at that gooey chocolatey goodness. It tasted pretty good, only for the first 3 bites. Then it got sickly so I highly recommend sharing because it’s a big serve. Even for Mr Foodie, hah!
I wanted something fancy at Fancy Ices so I ordered the Smokey C which was a chocolate panna cotta with liquid nitrogen vanilla gelato, macadamia nuts, dried fruit, marshmallows and chocolate chips served in an applewood smoke filled dome. Mr Foodie was supposed to capture the smoke dissipating on video but he was an Instagram husband fail. So you’ll just have to believe me. It was lovely to catch that applewood scent before digging into this decadent dessert which truly was infused.
Panna Cotta and ice cream aside they also do waffles, smoothies and a big variety of teas so if you ever find yourself in the area, pop in and try something.
