|Coco Loco – Malibu, bacardi, peach schnapps, gingerbread syrup, pineapple juice & lime juice in a fresh coconut|
We slipped on our thongs and headed down to the pop-up bar where fresh coconuts filled with Coco Loco cocktail awaited us. A most refreshing and cocktail that was dangerously delicious! The fact that it came in a fresh coconut just meant “selfie time” and “beach shot time”. It’s inevitable, amazing. Fortunately some canapés arrived to line our stomachs. This really is summer heaven, now if I can snag that beach chair…..

While it was all too easy to sink into those beach chairs, dig our feet in the sand and sip away watching the sunset, it was time to head inside for dinner to see what the new summer menu has in store for us. Lovely table setting and a great space inside as always. I still haven’t sat on that egg chair! Must make it a point next time.
We found our seats by the beautifully calligraphed place cards, or shall I say place leaves. I believe a Tiki-tai cocktail was also set before us.
|Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviché, Grapefruit and Beetroot Dressing, Parsley Oil|
Our entrée was a fresh and light delicious Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviché. Delicate thin slices of fresh kingfish that melted in my mouth like butter. I loved the citrusy and sweet taste I was getting from the grapefruit and dressing. Fantastic dish for summer, I could have so many more plates of this.
|Pressed Barossa Chicken, Duck Dumplings, Apricot Purée and Orange Sauce|
For our main course it was a different take on their Pressed Barossa Chicken. In winter we saw it served in a broth. This time it was still succulent inside but crispy on the outside. I see the classic pairing of orange with duck and apricot chicken. I found the apricot purée too intense and concentrated. I also would have liked more orange sauce, it seemed like only a little drizzle made it on my plate. The duck dumplings were the absolute highlight for me, once again I could eat a whole bowl of those.
