It’s one of my rare occasions where I go up north again! We came across a sign saying Cafe Komodo and walked right down the alley into a funky retro cafe. This hidden cafe lounge bar had a cosy vibe to it.
Beer list for the beer lovers
First up a drink order. I was absolutely craving an iced coffee, something quite unusual for me but so be it. I got my iced coffee with two cute coffee beans on top just like little eyes.
Mr. Foodie had something quite different. I can’t remember what it was called but it’s like masala chai. It was milk warmed with cinnamon, cardamom and other spices. Very interesting and fragrant if you like those sort of spices.

Cafe Komodo opens 9am to 5pm Monday to Sunday and 6pm to midnight on Friday nights with live jazz music. It’s a funky little place to hang out, apart from breakfast they also have board specials like pulled pork, slow braised beef, pasta, steak and lovely salads.
